Time management is an important skill for students to be successful at school. In college, there is so much to do. If you’re a student who has a job, is involved in a lot of campus activities and takes a heavy course load, the following tips will help you be on your way to managing your time effectively.

Invest In A Planner
A planner is very important. You can write things down in it such as due dates, meeting times and days when you work. To make it easier you can use markers and highlighters to color coordinate activities. Planners on your phone and tablet also work because if you ever need a quick reminder, it will be there at your fingertips.

Do Not Procrastinate
You may have everything planned out and you’re ready to tackle it, but your best friend texts you about the new shoes she ordered from DSW. Of course you want to carry out a conversation, but you have work to do. That one text is going to lead to an Instagram like, then a personal selfie party and before you know it five hours has passed and you haven’t done any work. Procrastination sucks don’t do it.

Pay Attention to the Syllabus
The syllabus will be your best friend. Learn it like the back of your hand. You won’t miss an assignment, you’ll know when to study for an upcoming test or quiz and you’ll know when office hours are. Students who are familiar with the syllabus tend to do better in class.

Get A Good Nights Rest
You’re brain will thank you. You’ll be more focused to reach your goal. To achieve your time management goals you should have a clear head and be well rested. When you’re tired, you can’t commit to your goals.
